Knapp Medical Center and the University of Texas Health Rio Grande Valley (UTRGV) Internal Medicine Residency Program welcome you to a new primary care clinic in Weslaco.
Located in the Knapp Medical Plaza building at 1330 E. 6th Street, Suite 105 in Weslaco, the brand-new Internal Medicine Residency Clinic is staffed by resident physicians, attending physicians, and nursing staff to meet your outpatient primary care needs.
This includes diabetes management, hypertension management, preventative care, physicals, routine health screenings, wellness check-ups, management of common infections, immunizations, and any other healthcare needs you may have.

The clinic, which specializes in treating adult and geriatric patients, is open for appointments Monday to Friday from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. and is able to offer a range of in-house comprehensive laboratory work and studies. The clinic is conveniently located in walking proximity to Knapp Medical Center, allowing for ease of transition for those patients who may have visited the hospital recently.
The compassionate resident physicians serving in the clinic are thrilled to have the opportunity to continue to care for the patients of the Valley outside of the hospital setting and to provide regular evidence-based individualized clinical care in the outpatient setting. We hope that this clinic will grow to serve a large portion of the community here in Weslaco and the Valley as a whole.

At the UT Health RGV / Knapp Internal Medicine Clinic, patients 18 years and up can be seen by internal medicine physician residents with the UTRGV Internal Medicine Residency Program at Knapp Medical Center. The physician residents are under the supervision of board-certified internal medicine physicians, including Dr. Timothy Health, Program Director of the UTRGV Internal Medicine Residency Program at Knapp; and Dr. Fatimah Bello, Associate Program Director.
The UTRGV Internal Medicine Residency Program at Knapp Medical Center is part of a historic expansion of medical education into the Mid-Valley. The new Internal Medicine Residency Program has added to much-needed medical coverage in the Mid-Valley by bringing the following 14 new internal medicine physician residents to the area in 2020:
