RGV Urology – Weslaco expands access to specialized urologic care for the Mid-Valley community
WESLACO – Patients in the Mid-Valley region now have greater access to specialized urologic care with the opening of RGV Urology – Weslaco, located in the Knapp Medical Plaza Building at 1330 E. 6th St., Suite 305. The clinic is led by board-certified urologist Dr. Desmond Adamu, who also serves on the medical staff at Knapp Medical Center.
RGV Urology – Weslaco provides comprehensive evaluation and treatment for a wide range of adult urologic conditions, including kidney stones, urination issues, prostate problems, urologic cancers and erectile dysfunction. The clinic offers both traditional and minimally invasive surgical options, ensuring personalized and effective care for each patient.
Dr. Adamu completed his urology and urologic surgery training at the University of Miami Miller School of Medicine and the University of Miami/Jackson Health System, where he also completed a general surgery internship and received a Resident Teaching Award. He earned his Doctor of Medicine degree from Meharry Medical College in Nashville, Tennessee, as a Carl J. Herzog Foundation Presidential Scholar, and his bachelor’s degree in chemistry from Texas Southern University in Houston.
Support is provided by board-certified, bilingual nurse practitioners Valeria Cedillo FNP-BC & Rebecca Olivarez FNP-BC, who bring strong clinical expertise, a patient-centered approach, and a focus on patient education and preventive medicine. Together, they provide comprehensive, coordinated care to help patients achieve the best possible outcomes.
